where to begin...
well i started this brilliant journey (i'm referring to the one i'm on...you know the boston one) with a short detour to orange county. so while i sit here at the long beach airport waiting for my flight i will write to tell you about my time in cali.
last thursday i bid "farewell" to my dear family (who i miss a lot if any of you are reading this) and boarded a flight headed toward los angeles. at the los angeles airport i was greeted by two smiling faces...one was my best friend michelle and the other was her roommate, kim, who is my new friend! after my long grueling flight, michelle and i headed out for a night on the town with a bunch of her "hope" buddies...including john swan who is my favorite (i love you john). we made our way to a movie theater to watch the midnight showing of "21"...and even though michelle and i were the only two people who liked the movie...everyone else was still in good spirits.
friday was michelle's last day of classes...so i was able to join the ranks of many college students (once again) and enjoy college life. we had many merry adventures over the next few days, including: beaches, caves, food, movies, southpark, and much much more.
by far my favorite part of the trip was sunday: disneyland day. we woke up very early and made our way to the happiest place on earth for a day of mickey, donald, and churros (yumm)! we were joined by two of my new favorite people: josh and bryant. we let the kids in us come out as we ran around disneyland enjoying everything. those of you who've been to disneyland...next time you go ride the canoes. it's really fun! you'll get to experience all the children in front of you who, i swear, blatantly look behind at you and give you an evil smile as they proceed to use their paddle to soak you with water. yep...that's exactly how it went, i'm sure of it! i was also privileged to be a part of the conversation where bryant explained to josh that the saying isn't "tomato potato"...i haven't laughed that hard in a while.
monday...these crazy animals wandered toward the los angeles zoo. michelle faced her fear of monkeys...with the help of me and josh. we also figured out that four dollars for ice cream is totally worth it when it's hot out and you have nothing else. that night we enjoyed amazing home cooking...and watched enlightening movies.
i guess that will pretty much bring you to me sitting here now...in an airport terminal...typing on my computer. before i go...i hope you enjoy a photo from my trip (at the top). i miss everyone back in oregon...and i'm super excited to arrive in boston soon!
